Surplus Candy

The street artist Hanksy put together an art show in an abandoned lower east side building with a bunch of other street artists decorating whole or walls or rooms within different apartments spanning 3 stories. He made a vague post on Twitter about the show with the location, being an abandoned building and all, happening one night only. I didn’t know about the show until after the fact, but exactly a week after the open show I made my way into the same abandoned building to see and photograph all of the works firsthand. It was a really fun adventure getting in and I made my way out the least unscathed of our tiny group, and the works up on the wall were absolutely worth it.
